Desmond Picotte - they/he

Director - Photographer - Producer

Desmond Picotte is an internationally renowned photographer who has been documenting the trans community for over a decade through representation that is dignified, celebratory, and deeply human. Picotte counters erasure with visibility and connection, highlighting trans identities with affirming portraits.

Picotte is an art director for Coach and previously served as the art director of editorial photography for Saks Fifth Avenue. Picotte has contributed to The New York Times for over six years and has been published in Girlgaze: How Girls See the World by Rizzoli Press. They were previously recognized by the city of Lyon, France, for their contributions to the visual history of feminism.

Fernanda Faya - she/her

Fernanda Faya is a Brazilian filmmaker, cinematographer, and educator from São Paulo, now based in Brooklyn, New York. In her award-winning feature documentary Neirud, she excavates intimate familial archives to challenge official histories and reclaim silenced voices, exploring how cinema can function as both testimony and repair.

Faya is currently completing Alone Together, a short documentary about elderly immigrants, while developing her first fiction film, Bete, supported by the Spcine Development Fund. Holding an MFA in documentary storytelling from Hunter College, Faya is a professor of Cinematography at Brooklyn College and a member of the Brazilian Collective of Female Cinematographers (DAFB).
